So yesterday made a trek offshore-ish alone to do some recon and test the waters. Well....they were warm at nearly 80 degrees in some spots I saw. A simple bucktail was the poison for these beasts. It was a GOOD day to say the least.

i haven't tried too many times, but still haven't ever gotten a mahi from NJ. only down in florida and they were much smaller than yours!

Was not expecting that size. I figured similar to the smaller ones on the bottom of the photo there....Got lucky. They put up a hell of a fight too.
