Prospertown evening with Grandson
Grandson Chris and I hit Prospertown yesterday around 6pm for the evening glassoff. We fished the straightaway first and Chris caught a small Pickerel on his third cast. We had no other fish there so we walked to the dam. I switched to a clear casting bubble with a nymph/crappie jig combo. Got a Rainbow on the second cast. Chris got a small Crappie by the skimmer on a cast bubble/black-chartreuse crappie jig. There were plenty of boils in casting range so we proceeded to catch small Crappie every few casts. There was a huge watersnake that came over the dam that scared the sh$t out of us. When the dust settled we caught 20+Crappie, 1 Sunfish, 1 Pickerel, and 1 Trout. 6 Flags fireworks started as we got to the truck. What a perfect way to end the day. The black/chartreuse crappie jigs caught all but the Pickerel. Lots of bugs rising off the water with Bats and Martins feasting into the night. Might hit it again tonight.
