Bayshore beach report 4/26/22

Fished the latter part of incoming tide this PM. Started throwing a 1oz Kastmaster spoon w/ bucktail hook. Stayed w/ this lure for the entire 2+ hours because it got action. A 26-1/2-inch striper, soon followed by a 16-inch striper. A short lull, then a good fish hooked that pulled drag but came unbuttoned. Did not see this one. A somewhat longer lull, then a hard hit near the beach. After a long battle on a light rod, a 36-inch bluefish made it to the beach.

Nearby fishermen landed stripers on shads and various swimming plugs. Unfortunately, the predicted NW wind will probably make the bayshore beaches unfishable for the next few days, especially w/ lures.
