Outfished again
 

My son did it again. Outfished me. Our tuna trip was cancelled this past Saturday. Rather than brooding, I had the pleasure of fishing Island Beach State Park with my sons Nick, who came from Columbia MD, and Mike, from Edison. Got a tip from a good friend Rob (AKA Squidmaster). 530 to 1130pm from the beach. Fresh bunker chunk. Had just one fish at 915 on the incoming and Mike jumped on the rod as the fish tried to drag it into the surf. A few minutes later Nick jumped into the surf himself to lip this 49inch beast. The only time I don't mind being outfished is by one or both of my boys.

A night to remember for sure.

What a trophy from the surf! Right place, right time, great report. That's what makes fall surf fishing so unique and awesome when everything comes together after a lot of hours logged. You never know when you're going to pick the right night and get the right bite.

Damn and I thought my 42" bass from Saturday night from land was a beast that thing is massive
