Flutter Spoon Rod/Reel

I’m looking to get a new set-up to use exclusively for throwing flutter spoons. I’ve been fishing them for a few years and using a few rods that I already have (both spinning & conventional). None feel exactly right-either to stiff or limp. From everything I’ve read, you want a rod with a soft tip but with plenty of power & backbone. Also some say you need a high speed reel (some suggesting reels with a 7:1 or 8:1 gear ratio).

What rod/reel combo are you using for flutter spoons ?

Spinning wise I’m thinking of the St. Croix Inshore MojoJIS76MH with a Daiwa Saltist MQ4000

Convention wise I’m thinking a Shimano Trevala TVSC70MH with a Tranx 400
