Fall Trout
FYI from the F&W Website
Fall trout-stocking, which has become one of the most popular stocking programs offered by Fish and Wildlife, will begin Tuesday, October 12, 2021, and continue throughout the following week. The New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife will stock a total of approximately 20,000 two-year old Rainbow Trout, averaging 14-16 inches in 17 streams and 19 ponds and lakes over a two-week period. In addition to these trout, up to 1,000 broodstock trout (three-year old rainbow trout, averaging 18-22 inches) are also stocked. Broodstock trout are mixed in with each truckload of fish. All fall-stocked waters may be fished as soon as they are stocked (no "closed waters" during fall stocking). Note: An actual schedule will not be posted in 2021. Waterbodies stocked will be noted at the end of the day they are stocked. This is to prevent crowds gathering at popular stocking points, making social distancing difficult. https://www.njfishandwildlife.com/trtinfo_fall.htm |

Re: Fall Trout
Honestly didnt do a lot of NJ trout last fall, but been thinking about how fun some short/quick trips have been from previous years. The size of the trout they put out in the fall are perfect fun

Re: Fall Trout
the more trout fishing opportunities there are in the rest of the state, the less fishing beer and lunch litter there is on streambanks and in the streams of NW jersey

Go to Roosevelt Park Pond and see how many fishermen are displaying licenses, more that likely none.

My theory is why have them check it from afar, when if they come up to me and ask me to produce it , a conversation always ensues...I wanna talk to these guys not just turn my back and wave... |
