Effects of henrie

Just wondering if anyone would comment on how long it will take the back of Raritan bay will take to return to normal salinity and chances of still fishing there for some fluke. Thanks

It will probably be chocolate milk from the back of the bay to Belford for at least few days with all the run off from the Raritan River and all the tributaries up north.. If you want to fish the back I would wait at least a few days or be prepared to head east more.

Be careful zipping around in the bay and out east in the ocean, there is likely to be a bunch of debris washing out of the rivers after the heavy rain up north. Logs, stumps and lumber !

Thanks for the update, thinking of going out Friday, have ramp passes for rumson and sayreville, thinking rumson would be the right call. Two weeks ago fished out of Sayreville, 10 fluke, 3 keepers, 1 robin. Thing I like about the back bay, almost all hits fluke, robin a pain but the dogs wreck havoc with the lines, fishing with daughter and grandson big pain in butt. Tight lines.

catsmeow, in 10-15 years you may miss fishing with the pains in the butt......just sayin.....

In regards to my post, when I stated pain in the butt I was referring to the dogfish twisting up our fishing lines, not my daughter and grandson. They are an absolute pleasure to take out fishing.

I was down in Leonardo yesterday and the water in the marina was surprisingly clear.. Looks like the entire party boat fleet had some great Fluke fishing yesterday too. Really surprised how well we recovered from this storm. Not getting all the wind that was predicted helped but getting 3 inches of rain in 2 days, I thought it would take a lot longer to clear up...

the mid-range tuna grounds had grey/green water yesterday, not the nice blue we have been seeing.
