Cape Codfish report :
Seems like all the 17-18" NJ Fluke followed us to Nantucket Shoals. Never seen so many small fluke here. Pool winner was maybe 6 lbs, most folks had limits. Second day was drop and reel codfishing. I fished these grounds (Little Georges Bank) in July and it was mostly haddock. But now the cod have pushed the Haddock offshore and the cod now are nice size, again most folks had limits. Pool winner was just shy of 20 lbs edging mine. Coolest part of trip was guy landing 200 lb Porbeagle on light equipment. We all got steaks!! Shout out to Chinni for putting this together, gr8 to fish with Jarhead and Jigging World crew again. |
Re: Cape Codfish

Re: Cape Codfish
Sounds like a great trip Larry and nice Cod!
Only thing missing was a shot of your lucky psychedelic sweat pants I'm used to seeing you wear. |
Re: Cape Codfish
Hatless ? You were actually hatless??!! :D
Nice report. Surprised at only a 6lber winning the fluke pool. You eat the shark steak yet? Curious how porbeagle tastes? |
Re: Cape Codfish
Nice Trip Larry. Happy for ya. Got to agree with Gerry and Duff. No grateful dead hat and pants not like you!

Re: Cape Codfish
"What a drag it is getting mold"....
Porbeagles are referred to as Makos of the North or Mackerel Shark. Tons of macks up there. Supposed to be great on Grill with Teriyaki, will find out tonight... yum... |
