Lake George Vacation

6 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone went to Lake George for our 3rd annual family vacation (7-30..8/6)and had our house on the water with boat slip so naturally I had rented a boat from Chic’s ( 21 foot Carolina skiff.) wanted lake trout and tried but since I didn’t have a depth finder on a rented boat it literally was blind jigging..since I only had a couple hours a day since I still had to do the family thing I concentrated on bass…. Oh man were they hungry … all caught on drop shot with natural color Robo worms… large mouths were in 20-30 feet of water and the smallies were in 30-45 ft of water … it seemed that once the rock piles hit some sort of green grass it was lights out… phenomenally good fishing… some drops I didn’t even close the bail on the cast yet and had a bass sitting on the worm.. so much fun!!

Yes thanks for the advise. I tried almost every morning for the Lakers east of Dome island where the charter boats were blind jigging… I got frustrated and went bass fishing… I wasn’t that upset because during the week three groups of people we met said on their charters the highest amount of Lakers caught were two for the day… so maybe it was just a off week with the cold front coming in.

yes we love it up there. The locals say that its tough that time of year for bass fishing but it was the best bass fishing I ever had… I can only imagine in June when they say it’s lights out up there.

Its absolutely lights out in June. Cast a 1/8th plastic into the shallows or under the docks and prepare to catch no stop all day!

Looks like you made the right move, why fish for something that isn't biting, espically on vacation, nice bass!
