Thursday South jersey trout & friends
 

Went to the trouser trout hole after work, was 4 or 5 older gents stationed on the pond catching 1 after another. We came to find out the rest of the pond is very shallow & weedy so majority of trout stay in the other end. We caught a ton of little pickerel, I got 1 crappie & got a little trout bite after the older folks left, I got 3 rainbows on 5 bites in about 20 minutes before it got to dark, Devon just got pickerels & is still left with taboo trout as her only trout catch 😆

Side note with NJ being c&r only right now I thought anglers wouldn't be fishing live bait, powerbait & barb less hooks but boy was I wrong, saw 8 rainbows belly up already quite a few floated immediately after being released. Just sucks for a pond to get maybe 300 fish & have so many be killed already. We stuck with jigs n gulp & trout magnets, I guess we should of cheated :p

yea i would figure CnR period would be limited to the same gear restrictions some CnR stream have, like no livebait at least.

I wonder if f&w will consider that for next year's season.

Everyone knows I'm the last person to say don't kill a fish but I abide by all rules & regs. Powerbait, meal worms, & earthworms aren't the best c&r choices even spinners with barbed trebles are gonna kill them. I didn't even know this pond was stocked until 3 weeks ago by accident.

I look on Google maps & find lakes & fish them. We stopped at this little pond after fishing the pines 1 day & both immediately hooked up with rainbows, we immediately released them & left. There was only 1 sign listing the closure & it was nailed to a tree I didn't see it til we got back to the car.I can't imagine the amount of poaching that happens here.

Good catching man but the floater part sucks. Some guys just don’t care about others. Selfish choices killed those Trout. I’m sure it’s happening all over the place. It’s unfortunate but at least you had a good time. YEA BUDDY!:D

Exactly my thoughts but dudes were dead sticking powerbaits. Every fish I caught was lip hooked on 1/32oz Jughead out of water 10 seconds these dudes were manhandling every fish. Trout are SAWFT as as marshmallows ya breath heavy on em they die lol
