Decided to make some casts from the bank to test my new reels on the musky was not expecting to catch anything so kept the net and waders in the truck but actually hooked in a solo nice rainbow for my first fish of 2021, wish i handled it better but really was just messing around not expecting much but currents were super fast and banks muddy slippery deaths traps

Nice fish, especially for somewhat of an accident and thanks for the conditions report. What reels did you go with?

Sweet, the ballistic is my go-to from the 2500 for basically all freshwater and light inshore saltwater to the 4000 for slinging epoxies and small metals, and jigging tog.

For those that have Daiwa Ballistic spinning reels as well as Daiwa Tatula spinning reels change the drag washers to Carbontex washers. They will improve the drag to make it buttery smooth. The original washers make the drag sticky and not as smooth. Replacing washers is easy and youtube has some videos to show you how. I used Ardent Reel Butter to coat the washers.
