January Surf
 

Beautiful weather and excellent conditions this morning. I tried a little north of Island Beach. Wasn't expecting much and I scaled down my presentation and fished low and slow. I worked my way to a spot that I saw some loons working in close and got a couple lethargic taps before hooking a small Bass by letting my rig hang on the beach lip. When the tide topped off the cloud cover broke up and what little action there was faded. Very happy to get out and fortunate to get some action. You think that's it or do you think there will still be some action in January? I would like to get out a few more times!

Not sure? There should be some around for another week or 2. There's still bait in the wash.

Didn’t get a hit on my last trip to Manasquan. Saw bait breaking. Nine other fishermen were nearby. I may try again. High tide is better than low tide.
