Cold Weather river fishing

Wanted to pick some guys brains on here about running on the river in the winter. What kind of problems should I expect to run into? What types of things should I bring with me for the ramp? Rock salt, sand? Gonna be running a jet also. Thanks in advance!

I run the river all winter. Watch for floating ice in the rapids it's hard to see. Also when there is a lot of shore line ice your wake will break it up so that will add to it.i always have a shovel and some shingles to use for traction if needed. Ideally you should have a set of tire chains if your worried about being stuck. Ramps get really bad here if there is a lot of snow.
