Multispecies Fishing on Round Valley Reservoir in New Jersey

On this particular day I fished Round Valley Reservoir with two of my friends from college. We weren't really targeting any particular species and were mainly just fishing for the classic "whatever would bite". I threw around some small artificials to start and picked up a green sunfish and small largemouth bass. Switched over to some live redworms and caught a bunch of bluegill along with one yellow perch and pumpkinseed sunfish. Also threw around a size 8 xrap looking for some larger fish, but couldn't get any to bite (I did snag a large bluegill with it though). All things considered it was a good day out on the water with some friends. Most of the action came on the worms and supported my famous saying. "If you're not catching fish on live worms there are two reasons for it. First, there are no fish in the water. Second, you're the worst fisherman ever." I love any kind of fishing and have to say that fishing with worms isn't nearly as fun as it once was for me. It produces fish, but it takes the fun and excitement out of it for me. Anyway, if you'd like to see the trip, here is the video.

If you can't catch fish on worms......take up GOLF.

One of the reasons I'll likely never starve to death so long as I can dig worms.

How far is the walk from the parking lot? I'm going there this Saturday evening.

I had a chance to check out RV for the 1st time ever on Saturday. Wasn't worth the hour ride because we got some steady rain in the evening which put a damper on everything and we didn't prepare for rainy weather. The only placed that looked somewhat fishable from the shore was right by South Lot. We only fished the immediate area by the lot for a 30 minutes before we packed it in from being completely soaked. Any recommendations on where to go from there? I've seen YouTube videos of people wet wading in RV but can't figure out where that was in relation to where we were.

Why? No action at all now? I'm just taking my kids for a little bit of fun.

Gotcha. Thought u were targeting trout. If just looking for panfish, you can fish any pond, lake, etc with worms and catch countless sunnies.

If targeting trout, late fall into winter.

Not panfish. LMB, walleye, pickerel, etc.
