Sunday Raritan Bay fluking

I could have cut-and-pasted this report and used it for the last 3 weekends.
Sailed out of Keyport, started back in the Triangle. Low tide and no breeze didn't make for a good drift, but we managed a decent pick of shorts. After we got too hot, we ran across to Keansburg, where we had nonstop action on the flats. Trouble was they were all 12" fish. I never saw so many little ones, which probably bodes well for next year and after.
The Wonder Rig did the work for us, all fish coming on that naked killie. 13 year old Brayden was high hook with 24+ fish, and our biggest of the day at 17.5".
We didn't get dinner, but his smile says it all!

Nice job. The afternoon wind from south with outgoing tide was pain in the ass. You know some days sea robbins save it. Mini fluke are a good day.

Later about 5-6pm the heavens attacked. Gale force winds with driving rains. Pretty ugly even on R Bay.

Way to get the kid on some action Jeff.

Looks like it’s time to start exploring outside. Tried deeper myself on Fri but no different than inside and shallower.

I was thinking the same thing. Sunday was not the day, as we had the little guy on board, so 25 12" fish > 2 keepers. Hopefully the big 'uns start showing up soon. Although, a guy at my marina weighed in a 10.5# that he caught in the bay on Saturday. Go figure. I'll be back at it on Friday.
