Is Round Valley open?

has anyone fished Round Valley reservoir recently? is it possible to launch a boat. the last time i went was early December and the ramp was pretty bad, trucks getting stuck etc.
i know there is construction going on around the dams. is it seriously interfering with fishing?

would love to know before i make the trek.

thanks in advance

Before you dunk your boat, survey the launch area. The gravel goes out farther in the water in some spots than others. Once you go past the gravel or stone, it's a very soft bottom.

Re: Is Round Valley open?

I was there two nights ago to scope out launch and maybe fish from the banks a bit. It is so low I wouldn’t even consider launching a boat from either ramp. I have launched at spruce when it was so low you had to launch from beach but RV is crazy low. So low I was too lazy to walk all the way to the bank of the main lake and ended up slipping through open gate
And fishing swimming side which was still normal height and well
Up the rip rap. No luck fishing but I tell
Myself the trip was more for reconnaissance than fishing.....

thanks for all the replies. my boat is pretty light so i don't have to go too deep, i can push it off the trailer. but yeah that mud scares me when it is so low. don't want to get stuck. will probably just go for a hike first to check it out.

are they at least working on the dams? some hope to get things back to normal in 2 years or so? now that Merrill creek is closed, pretty much no options for me :)
