Trout must have been deprived of food cause they were out there and biting!
Caught and released 5 or 6 in the 1st 45-50 min.

Garlic salmon eggs were like magic. Had to perform 3 successful minor surgeries due to the trout inhaling the eggs.

Tried a few Trout magnet variations w/ no success..

Nice catching! For me I’ve found it just as easy to snip the line on deep hooks like those.

I went out again this morning.
Caught and released 4 nice trout before I ran out of time (had to get home to take care of something).

It was cold but the trout were still biting.

Really looking forward to opening day!

Another great morning!

I am not ashamed to say I just picked up my 1st pair of chest waders and they are GAME-CHANGING!!

Was real nice getting out and decompressing for a while.

Caught and released a few nice rainbows!

It seems like the state stocked more fish than usual. I fished a major river today and caught around 30. Soft hackle size 14 olive caught about half the fish. Crazy hatches. The best thing is all the fish caught by me and others are still swimming.

I like this C&R for the first week or two.
