Crappie action = toad largemouth? 3/14
 

Had a few hrs to kill saturday so hit a well known, heavily pressured mercer county lake. Was jigging crappie on a gold trout magnet jighead and 1" gulp grub. Around 6 pm I lifted my my jig and it got stuck. Then the "stuck" dumped 25 yards of 4 lb test off my rod. After a fun fight I laid down and lipped a toad largemouth. Cant believe the tiny hook stuck. Prob 4.5 lbs or so with huge girth.

Sweet catch. Fishing is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get;)

Nice largie! I've had similar things happen to me a few times. The whole "big baits catch big fish" saying isn't true all the time.

Nice catch and especially at a time when catching is a lot tougher.

I've been out a few times. Feels good lol. Felt like I was becoming a rampant booze hound on the couch the last 3-4 months with no ice and the bum wing. I was burning through IPAs, bourbon and pinot noir to the point I may have been partially pickled haha...

Got some eyes the other night and chunky slimer on the river. Was out all day yesterday with Dale, too.

nice bucketmouth that had to be fun when you are fishing for crappies, sort of the same thing when a giant slime dart takes your rufus jr jig for a short ride then snaps you off right at the shore or boat. good to hear that bum wing is good to go.:cool:
