slow start to the crappie search

this weekend got off to a slow start. On sat the bite was off in the morning then picked up in the afternoon. I had good numbers at the spot that i fished in the afternoon, the three spots i tried in the morning gave up nothing. Sunday i fished in the afternoon only went to my usual spot in the northern part of the lake and found the fish were i left them the day before. The fish were in slighty deeper water than i have been getting them in and had to adjust my jig to bobber depth. i was fishing 18 to 26" under the float and had to go to 3' under the float.. You had to use a real slow retrieve and at times i just twitched the bobber and let it sit and they would hit. the fish ranged from 7 to 14" I caught sunnies, perch, roaches(golden shiners), slime darts and crappies. the nite temps have been on the cold side so the water is slow to warm up, one other angler told me that the temps he has been seeing went from 44 to 47 surface temps. the wind has been blowing strong so that is making things interesting as well. fish porn below the top fish is 14" and the bottom fish is 10" time for some panko fried crappie:D

splashed the boat on saturday and had similar results. Tried 4 spots before we found them. The bite was extremely subtle just a tick of the bobber. shallow protected water was 49 degrees

same here, pulled the first goose egg this year on the saturday a.m. trip.jumped in the boat with my son for the afternoon trip.we hit 6 or 7 spots and not a bite.
my son says" last spot Dad,all or nothing".so we arrive anchor up and to my surprise its game on with the yellow perch.not the cast and catch that we had but enough to keep ya smiling.sunday whole new game.fished on spot in the a.m. from 7-10:30 and had fish the whole time.it was a mix of crappie, perch and
golden tarpon.around 2pm went back to the same spot and started all over again.there were more crappie in the afternoon for sure.on a side not for the
kayak peeps.please please don't go right up to the docks.the dock are what are holding the fish.anchor away and cast to.oh yea,the peep that was in the lime green yak that thought it would be a good idea to go out in a steady 15-18 knot
wind without an anchor, don't ruin the fishing for everyone else.
