R.I.P Manny Luftglass:
Wellington, Fla. - Emanuel "Manny" R. Luftglass, 84, passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly, Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, at Wellington Regional Medical Center, due to complications from influenza. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Pauline and Harry Luftglass. He and his wife, Karen Kelly, were snowbirds, alternating between New Jersey and Florida.
Was a former mayor of Somerville and loved fishing in New Jersey. Penned many books about fishing in New Jersey. If history serves me correctly and the rumors are true, he boldly asked NJF&W to stock trout in the Raritan river. Back then all you had to do was ask, his wishes were granted. So I guess we can thank Manny Luftglass for that, as well as promoting fishing in the Garden State. |
