Fall troutin

Usually start later. with ocean kicking I decided to go early ! Water low, clear but very fishable . Cloudy , rainy day nice 👍
Got to streams late fished about 5 hrs , got a spring limit missed 2 . Couple nice bows in the mix .

Good deal.

The fall stockers look nice. All the grief NJ gets but the stocked fish are in sooooo much nicer shape than they were back in the '80's

those are not likely state stocked fish though just for the record.

Lots of the stockers last few years have had great coloration

What were they like?

Washed out sliver, not great coloration. They used to stock the leftover single year fish too. Mostly 5 inchers.

I see what you mean, i see other stocked trout from across the country get similar to what you describe and ive always noticed how NJ's rainbows are a lot more lively looking.
As well as some of my father's pictures of NJ rainbows back in the day.

They seemed to have a lot more black spots, a fainter red/pink line, like of this picture below

Great looking Bows Cap’n. Catching in the low water can be tough. You know what your doing for sure. Get em man!!!:D
