Half day fishing out of PP

Fishing flat bottom doesn't cut it this year. If I'm not losing sinkers, hooks, and jigs, I'm not fluking. Every trip out of PP has been a downer. Same boring bottom every trip. Really nice boat but disappointed in where they fish. There's a lot of reef and rock bottom off Manasquan Inlet to choose from. No choice for half day boat fishing any where else. Wish Belmar had a 2:00 - 6:00 pm half day boat. They fish north where the rough stuff is. Charter boats are the way to fish this year.

Hummm, PB I fish sometimes goes north, sometimes south, sometimes almost straight out. If it was a good AM trip would probably head back there(generally) on the PM trip; otherwise will try somewhere else & I've donated my share of rigs-- every year...

Cuz, Both Point 1/2 day boats Gambler and Norma K 3 have excellent captains and produce many quality fish. Could it be that you just cant catch a fluke on a party boat ?

I’ve seen at least 30 keeper fluke caught by guys fishing the wall on the Pt. Pleasant side of Manasquan Inlet in the past few days. Along with countless fluke between 17-17.99”s. Inlet is choked with bait. Save yourself some $$, buy a pint of killies & maybe a package of spearing.

In addition there are cocktail blue and spanish mackerel running the inlet.

I fished on a full day party boat today for porgies. Had a decent day, once the fish finally turned on. I donated at least 6 rigs to the various wrecks we fished on. Definitely annoying!
Also of note... I caught a beautiful 18 inch sea bass ( I had to measure it). Tears welled in my eyes as I released it.

This is the truth! I’ve been fishing the inlets and some back bay spots for the last month or so. The action and keeper Fluke have been very kind to me! All I’ve been doing is jigging Gulp Mullets, nothing crazy and no live bait. Only had 1 bad trip 3 weeks ago, no keepers! But I got keepers and a limit 4 out of 5 trips! Hope this helps somehow. The fish have different patterns every year. Hard to tell where there going with the ridiculous amount of bait in the bays and rivers!
