NOAA-Wrong Again
Category 5 hurricane to hit Florida!!!!WRONG!They had to get the European computer model to figure out it was going to hit the Bahamas and turn North and make land fall near North Carolina. Wow they need the Europeans to predict the weather in the states. These are the same idiots that manage our fisheries. Go figure???

Re: NOAA-Wrong Again
Unfortunately the last President was able to replace professional of all sorts with political hacks to push a socialist agenda. NOAA no longer focuses on real meteorology, they push Global Warming Tax scams. The same happened to NASA, the military (remember all those destroyers running into traffic), and the intel agencies. Hopefully that’s changing.

https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/archive/201..._line_and_wind The controls above the interactive map are intuitive & user-friendly. The Euro is vastly more expensive to run than the GFS, and the current US administration is headed by a climate science denier who's systematically purging scientists and other experts from the agencies that need them, while leaving the remainder without sufficient funding to do their work. EPA is now run by a lawyer/coal lobbyist after its lawyer/oil lobbyist's rampant greed & corruption could no longer be kept under wraps, and Energy's run by Rick "Oops" Perry, who's scientifically-illiterate and had previously expressed interest in doing away with his Cabinet-level agency entirely. His boss shares your antipathy for regulations and just mindlessly repeals them, so he might be able to help you out with your fisheries management problem. A lot more money is needed to bring NWS up to the lofty Euro standards, and in the unlikely event that Congress appropriates the funds, they'd probably be redirected by executive fiat to a relatively useless vanity wall on the US-Mexico border anyway. Mexico was supposed to pay for it, but they apparently didn't get the memo. |
Re: NOAA-Wrong Again
Yes noaa can be challenging as far as forecast. No doubt about that
At least folks in Alabama had plenty of time to prep for Dorian |
