We were away at the family get-together in Colorado. (Scotty, Mike and Bri say HI) After catching up on things we were finally able to get out today, 8/11. It was slow but we ended up with a mixed bag, LM, crappie and a YP. The reason I said slow was because 5 of the 7 LM were caught in a 45 minute period. These were our best, smallest being 18".

Nice to catch a little of everything sometimes! Those bass look healthy in those pics. Nice work! No fish pics from Colorado?

No but this is my best from today. LOL Attachment 136424 Plus (2) 16 and a 14.
We did go fishing but spent more time looking (157 miles the first day) for places to fish and took pictures in the process. Trout were the most available fish since we were at the headwaters of the Colorado. Attachment 136427
We did fish around Shadow Mountain Lake and the pump canal for a few hours twice and I did catch a 14" brown trout on a roostertail but didn't have the camera. They are nothing like our BT, it was beautiful with red in it's coloration.Attachment 136425
Rented a pontoon boat for the day at Lake Granby but it was for pulling the grand-kids around and hanging out. We did have some follows and some very light hits.Attachment 136426

In closing, I drove out and back, a little over 4000 miles in six days and when it came to fishing, being in my 70's at an altitude close to 9000 ft. I'm no longer into steep banks some times a hundred feet or so high and that is why the canal was so enticing. I know that I could do it if it were 19 years ago when at 55 my youngest son, now 43, climbed a mountain out there starting at 9500 ft (that's the altitude that my kids lived at) to the summit at about 13,200 ft. and not a gradual climb.
In the end, although the trip was very memorable, I was very happy to get back home to do some bass fishing.

PS: I also found out that I can't handle the altitude like I once did but can throw a football with my grandson for thirty minutes down at 6000 ft.

Got out today hoping that the moon phase would make the difference. Water temp started out at 77 went up to 78 and change but was 80 and change on the windward side. Caught 10 Lm, a couple of dink LM & SM and a couple of YP having the place to ourselves. These were my better half's best 2.
