Passaic River Report 6/9/19

Took the yak to the river before sunrise.
Fished the banks for one small Pike. Off the water by 9am. Used rapalas, spinnerbaits, buzzbait, and secret techniques. Fish caught on a deadbait (herring).

River is running high from the rains but flow is starting to calm down.
Saw two other boats as I was leaving.
Tight Lines fellas.

I know where you launched from! Not far from my house. Lovely area of the river, glad to see you got on a pike!

Yep! It's a very heavily hit area so I'm glad I found a fish.
In the future I'd like to explore other less popular areas of the river for higher chances of bigger Pike.

But my first and biggest Pike was caught in that stretch two years ago. 35" may not be trophy but it's plenty for me :D

Nice man! I moved to the area a little over a year ago, I have tried for pike several times in that spot among a few others and still haven't connected with one. I'm dying to catch my first pike! Hopefully i get a chance to launch the yak there again sometime soon :D

Never give up brother, fish relentlessly and you'll find one or hopefully more!
Wouldn't be surprised if that area sees upwards of 20 boats daily, especially on weekends. If you take your yak deeper into the Great Piece Meadows I think you're more likely to find a good one.
