East Branch of Delaware Float
5 Attachment(s)
Me and Avet George did a 6 mile float trip on the East Branch of the Delaware guided by Dan Marshall of Roscoe. We put in just west of the Peapacton Dam and floated to around Shinhoppe.
Very scenic trip with a few fatty browns and several that did not come tight. Fished a black bodied Roostertail with a silver spinner and George fished a Phoebe the whole time... We were going to try some fly fishing but no hatches were working because the the cold front and storm that passed while we were in the middle of our float. Dan was a great guide with lots of energy, enthusiasm and local knowledge I’d highly recommend him. |

We stayed at the Roscoe Camping Center right along the Beaverkill... It was Bug Week and Trout Weekend up there so a fair amount of fishing pressure in the area...
Got the Mrs a fly casting lesson, she was a natural and liked it a lot!! |

Re: East Branch of Delaware Float
If you want you spin fish up there go in April to mid May before the bugs come out. Then again in October and early November. It's really quiet up there in the fall vs the spring mad house.
