good grandpa
 

got home friday after work chomping at the bit to get up to the lake and fish for the walleyes.as i am getting my stuff ready my son calls and asks if i can watch
my grand daughter because he and his wife want to go up and fish.i say ok
and off they go.they got some herring and were set on getting the misses her first eye.they were set up for ten minutes when the first rod goes off.my son tells her to grab the rod flip the bail and set the hook.she does and the reel starts screaming.it took 10 minutes to get the fish to the net but she did,an 8.8lb striper.my son said she was so happy she just screamed.she said she was shaking for five minutes after the fish was in the net.the stayed and fished till 10pm with some crappies,slimmers and a few small larry's.the baby and i were
sleeping when they got to the house.she had to wake us up and tell the story.
i think if her smile grew another 1/2 inch her head would have split in two.the striper did not make it so we had it for dinner saturday.i was very happy for her
and my son as that willl be something not soon forgotten.i did manage to sneak out saturday night and catch a few eyes that were released to get bigger.
