Earth Day Pickerel
 

Today I went up north (well north of me) to one of my favorite spots. The bass were on beds so it became a pickerel day. I caught 9 and missed another 5. They were all over 25 inches and fought like crazy. I had a battle with a giant that I finally got to my feet, then it bent my size 3 mepps and broke off the hook. I almost dove into the lake after it. Its awesome pickerel fishing in clear water. A lot different from the cedar water of the pines. You see them come out of nowhere behind the lure and attack.

Then I went over to Columbia lake since I haven't been there in decades and its closed with a fence blocking the road. So I took the 3 hr ride back home.

Wow, and all the (or most) of the rivers are blown out, nice pickerel !!

Yea. I was supposed to go shad fishing but the river was a mess. This lake was clear tho.

Pickled Pickerel for everyone! Good fish buddy! Shad are all the way up the river with this high water! Gona be stacked in certain holes when it finally drops. Game on!!!:D
