4/11-4/16 Report
 

Went out several times, night and day, in the Raritan since Thursday. Threw jigs and shadow rap shad. Only result was first smallie of the year. Decent 15 incher taken on shadow rap shad out of the Millstone where it meets the Raritan.
Other anglers I encountered said they were catching the usual suspects on typical fare.
Hit the canal this morning little after 7 am. Got cut off by a musky bouncing 1/4 oz jig w/ bluegill easy shiner. Estimate it around 3 ft. For a big fish it hit the jig lightly. However, shortly after I set the hook, it displayed its power and dental fortitude....jumped and cut my 10lb mono. Still was really cool to see that beast in action though.
Loving all the action I'm seeing out there by everyone too!

Sorry about the lost muskie :( but at the same time thats epic to have at least see the epicness of it hit.

Nice way to start off the smallie season too.

Ahhh, yet another canal Muskie gone. Tough place to fish. Keep the reports coming in, maybe I'll see ya out there !:)
