Today aboard the Down Deep Bull we ran another 6am open boat Raritan Bay Striped Bass trip with a big crowd of great new and returning guys. After two days of short action and too few keepers, today it was a savage chew fast boxing everything the crew came for and returned many more to swim another day. Thanks everyone for sailing with us and all others who continue booking all their trips going forward at a rapid pace. Don't miss the next open boat trips -

Are you saying there are "no large schools of bunker in the bay yet?" If so that would save me from bringing my 50 gallon live well up there on Sunday. Thanks in advance.

There are Bunker, but jigging and trolling are working best right now. Good luck Sunday

The 2 stripers we kept on Tuesday had nothing but bunker bones in their stomachs.

While we have seen the same this week, the chunk bite is definitely starting. If you could find a place without boat traffic on Sunday :D , you may get them to bite.
