Monster Wild Brown (2/24/19)
Originally wasn't planning to fish, but I ended up having the afternoon free. Most places were messed up from the rain on Saturday night, but I found one spot that looked like it might be fishable. So I took the long drive out to give it a shot.
When I arrived at the river, I was greeted by poor conditions. The flows were decent, but it was very dirty. I figured I might as well give a shot since I'd made the drive. I worked a section of river using various lures and nada. I had decided I would try one more hole and that would be it. I worked through the hole, and had an average brown follow me up to the back, but miss the lure. I kept casting and casting but the fish had lost interest. All of a sudden, I get slammed by a much larger fish that screamed drag downstream. After a short fight, I slipped the net under a monster wild brown, by far my largest from this spot. A big, angry male. http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...pstcmf63du.jpg With the mission accomplished, I called it a day. |

That things a beast. Dirty water time is when the big browns go on the feed. That one for sure, didn't get to look like that without eating plenty of small fish.
