Rain and stream temps
 

So my window for fishing today is closing due to work so I'm looking at tomorrow AM. Looking to trout fish. The last thing we need is more water in the streams, BUT it's a warm front from the South. Does that mean the rain water is potentially warmer than stream water and can give the temps a boost? (I always like trending from very clear to off color, but not dirty, water). It would also depend on what happens to the water as it cools or warms as it runs off. Wind and a little color to the water can cover up a lot of sloppy presentation.

The Trout are feeding really well. Get out early tomorrow with the rain gear. South Branch is running at a perfect level right now. Flood watches have been issued for tomorrow into tomorrow night. Bleh!!! Every weekend.

Every weekend is right!! Sunday is the first day in forever i have a completely free day to fish. Gonna hit some WTS's that hopefully wont be blown out by then!

I think with winter trout fishing the afternoon would be the best bet when the water ticks up a few degrees. BUT with all that being said I really don't think it even matters because it hasn't stopped raining for a year now and more rain on the way.

Should have taken the boat out. Zero wind despite forcast. Shitty day of fighting pricker bushes and running into posted signs 100ft in either direction on the flooded SB and looking like an idiot watching a float at the Valley.

Stream temps are regulated by several factors through the year however in winter two most important are sun and runoff !
Sun warms , runoff cools especially snow !
