Another day, another limit! Walleye! 12/1
 

Started off the day driving to a lake I haven’t fished from a boat in quite a while. I’ve done very good here in the past. I get all my gear and bait on the way up only to find the main launch gated off, DA FUQ??? No ice, no snow, no downed trees, lake is full, it’s calm out! Why oh why is the main ramp closed at Swarts on such a beautiful late fall day? Tried launching at the cartop ramp on the other end, no good. I wound up putting my entire truck in the water including the front tires! I opened the door at one point and noticed my truck was in the water 10 feet back from the ramp! Hahahaha! Boats too high up to launch at the cartop spot! Dammit! I really wanted to fish here! I was livid at this point!

Plan B!!! Checked water levels, they were high! I wasn’t going to go but glad I made the call! Wound up landing 10 Walleye from noon to 430 pm! 6 keepers between 18-21.5 inches and 4 shorts. Bite started off hot and heavy then died out around 2. Picked back up around 345 and it was a fast and furious power hour bite. I lost just as many as I landed! Feed bags are on! Got out of there just in time to beat the rain! Beautiful late fall day on the water, even if I wound up driving 4 hours to fish 4 hours! LOL!!! TIGHT LINEZ!!!:D

Nice going buddy, hopefully after the river floods tonight some bigger fish find their way into the hole!

NICE walleye !! I have only been to Swartz a few times and I find it a very odd place.

Plan B paying off!

Talked with the park staff last week and was told the ramp is closed after the first snow fall and reopens in the spring! :mad:

there is other spots to launch then the state park ramp the one by dove island is a bit tricky and the one over by the bar is private i think. those eyes are nice and lets hope they want to play when the ice is on that place. that one fish has a nasty cheek wound wonder what caused that ? nice work eddie. did you get any smallmouth?

see if you texted me, i could've told you it was closed and then we could've went fishing together for walleye and i wouldn't have gotten skunked muskie fishing! tsk tsk, nice plan b though! get some walleye!!!
