Sunday Blackfishing
 

Had a decent day of Blackfishing on the Obsession Sunday with Joe, Sven, Jarhead, Mike and Jake. Capt Joe decided to push the start time to a little later in the morning when the wind was supposed to lay down and it was the right call since we had good running conditions down to the grounds.

The bite wasn't as savage as it has been but it was enough to keep you interested and at the rail... Everyone had a shot at some keepers, nothing big but some 4 and 5 pounders in the mix. First and deeper spot the rigs outfished the jigs and second and shallower spot they hit both.

Jake had never jigged before and had a steep learning curve in the beginning but towards the end of the day he got the hang of it and was rewarded with a nice flurry of hook ups.

i feel like every season i have to relearn the tog jig touch for about an hour on the first trip hahaha

I fed the fish all day. Fatten 'em up for opening day! :D
