Catfish Night Out 9/4
5 Attachment(s)
Had some time to kill Tuesday night so I decided to have a catfish night out! Hit a nearby spot and had dropped anchor, set a couple lines, and started the Chum slick by 7:45.
Didn't take long for the onslaught of bullheads to come along. Wasn't non-stop but enough to keep me busy till dark set in. At one point my rod dipped, and as I set it, the line peeled!! The channels had arrived..... First was the biggest at 24". Also got a 20 and a 19 along with more bullheads. Channels fought pretty well on med/light with 8# test!!!! Back home by 10. Pretty good action for an after work quickie!! |

Great channels. I always wanted to try it out on a boat at night after seeing lots of videos online about it. Seems like a totally different experience

.
Awesome. Catfish are really an underrated gamefish in New Jersey. We have a great population of wild-born fish in the Delaware River and many reservoirs and lakes are stocked with hatchery-born catfish. I haven't caught any Channel cats over 22 inches this year, but in previous years, I've caught some big 'uns. . |

Good stuff on those kitties.. Probably was a lot of fun on a medium light. My favorite power rod for fishing NJ
