Upper South Branch MEGA float 7/20/18:

Floated from dam to dam. Put in at the service road behind Rt. 78 in the town of Clinton just down river from Clinton falls and took out just above Rockafellows dam, roughly 10 miles. Larger fish were hard to come by on this float for whatever reason. Dinks were a dime a dozen, enough to keep things interesting through the entire trip. Water was gin clear today.
No shortage of Bald Eagles and Great Blue Herons, the river overall was very clean. Hoped for better, next float main stem.
Got a few good early morning photos of a mist rainbow that appeared above the "lake" section of the river.

That bass pictured saved the trip, was getting worried we wouldnt find one not under the dink classification.

Even caught less dinks compared to that NB float.

Idk man I think the NB is the better fishery ;)

Thanks again for the float.

Nice report! Always working on cleaning the river, my hat goes off to you. We need more people like that!

We did pretty good time with a put in around 7am and a take out time of 1:30pm. What I would give for that river to be just 6 inches deeper, all the scraping and dragging stinks !

def too much skinny water the first few miles of that float, nice deep holes followed my inches for a long ways

Great time of year to float! Especially now that the humidity has settled down! Fish are going to get spooked when a weird shadow or noise comes
Down river. Pristine water!!!:D
