Upper North Branch Raritan
Hit the north branch upstream of the lamington confluence in several locations.
Plenty of dink smallmouth and some healthy foot longs scattered around. Caught this one last Thursday: https://s22.postimg.cc/x9qgk7tz5/IMG...712_145459.jpg Today I did a quick trip and tossed out some smaller jig. Ended up catching a rainbow trout. Probably a holdover from this spring's stocking. Good looking fins and had that same bold color I saw throughout this spring's stocked trout. Released him right back in the deep hole I found him. https://s22.postimg.cc/r8srn5f2p/IMG..._171722325.jpg Dont underestimate skinny water ;) |

For worms I personally use zoom u-tales texas rigged. Caught by PB on that and numerous other bass in good sizes. I think they prefer the chartreuse tail ones. However Ive been having great results on these 3 inch swimbaits, paddle tails and white with a green top. Just on a simple 1/8 oz jig head. Ive caught bass on pretty much everything; when they're hungry I dont think they even look at what they eat. So keep it simple. |
