Never heard that one lol. Those phrases largely vary from region to region. In any case, I doubt wind direction has much of an effect on that lake.

Wind from the east, fish bite the least.

Wind from the north, don't go forth.

Wind from the west, fishing is the best.

Wind from the south, blows the bait in the fishes' mouth.

Its regional. West wind is the worst in South Florida, and south wind is terrible for inshore saltwater in NJ.
