First iced Pike
 

After keeping a close eye on things all week I snuck out today for the first trip out this year fishing. Ice didn't make as much as I thought it would have last night..... Spudded my way out on 2" and iced my first few Pike of the season had them up to 32" ish and a big snot rocket 24" overall the action was pretty slow. Bwahahahahahaaha!!! That’s a nice plump Pike from the Pike aquarium! Yea BUDDY! Sorry I couldn’t be there standing next to you on that solid 2 inches of hardwater! LOL! And so it begins! Let the good times roll MANIACS!!!:D

Awsome! Congrats dude. I also had a great day out got a 4-5 lb bass, small pickerel and a ton of perch. Ice was very thin (2. To 2-1/2) where I was. Be careful out there guys.

nice! yeah what's up with the ice making...i checked some places and places that were 2" before that big time cold snap only gained about a half inch in a few days!? I couldn't believe it, what is happening?....and now everything is melting haha

Snow on top of the ice insulates the ice! Ends the ice making process unfortunately. Temps look frigid after the holidays. As long as the wind doesn’t come up and destroy everything we might be in good shape! Let’s see what happens! I’m pretty tired of the place I fished Sunday. I’ve spent enough time there for us all, LOL!!!!
