Carp Contest
 

If you want to show your skills, get yourself to Deal Lake on Sunday April 22. The contest is free and there are cash prizes according to the Asbury Park Fishing Club's website. There are prizes for the person who catches the most carp and for the person who catches the largest carp. The contest goes from 7 A.M. to Noon.

And its a fun contest our club puts on ..... take the kids too.... easy access and parking all around the lake :)

$200 for most carp caught ---- $100 for largest carp --- $50 for second place $25 for third place -- $25 for junior winner under 12 years of age

Weigh in carp before NOON at Deal Lake flume on Ocean Avenue

Fish must be caught in DEAL LAKE. No registration required

Get your cans of corn and peas and your secret cornmeal and doughball recipes ready. When those rubber lipped mud monsters grab your bait and take off on their first run, you'll swear you are onto a runaway train. These fish are not really considered a gamefish in these parts, but if you hook into one that weighs in the double digits you might think differently.
