A couple of Bass at a local pond last night

On my way home from work yesterday I stopped by a Dicks to re-stock and then decided to take a few casts at a pond that is conveniently nearby. This pond, despite not being the most scenic spot (see loading docks in the background) always seems to produce for me. Nothing huge but managed 3 decent fish in about a half hour.

All told yesterday I found success before work at one spot in Bergen County, another Bergen County spot at lunch, and my Union County glorified retention basin on my way home. The bass are definitely hungry!

That is actual part of the urban inshore reef program started by some of the finest drop-outs in our public school system.

Nice job bassin in the mud puddles!

The look on your face is identical to the look on faces in pulp fiction when they open the brief case lol...

Nice bass, too.

I love that spot for a quick bass when I'm stuck on 22 shopping with the wife or going through the honey do list.

Only advice check yourself for ticks. Always seem to find at least 1 on myself or clothing after fishing there.

You really can’t beat it for convenience. I always am happy to ‘run to target’ for my wife. I also seem to catch more fish there than any of the other local spots (Echo, Lenape, Nomahegan). After five years fishing that spot I am pretty sure I have caught and released every bass of decent size (many more than once). Occasionally you will find a 3+ lb fish too.
