Surf fishing

Anybody on here catching? I have been getting one or two per outing, mostly on the needlefish and some on the SP, not too many on the teaser. On Thursday night I lost a nice fish that ran me over a rock pile and I pulled the hook applying max pressure to get her out. Other than that its been all schoolies for me.

Had action at Manasquan on five consecutive days last week with an Ava and Bomber. Nothing on a teaser.

Nice Sundial there. Do you ever get any returns on them? I got one on a teaser an hour ago, 16 inches. I think it's the smallest Bass I ever caught in the surf.

Only one of the 147 sundials that I tagged was recaptured. An NMSF observer on a scallop boat reported it offshore of Barnegat Inlet.

I had a great day catching shorts on Monday. concentrate on the bay area's up north. They were on Sand eels. Threw a 27 Green tail Diamond jig was the trick.

Thanks Dave. Good to hear you got into them. I fished last night a little south from there and had a decent bite that got better when the wind started blowing, but I still had to work for them and I didn't see any real consistency. Its pretty churned up now. Almost forgot to mention I caught a Black Drum on a Needlefish which I thought was pretty unusual.

Glad it worked out for you, it's hard to go wrong with that Northeast wind other than your cold right down to your bones .
The fish are small but none the less they are fun
