Sea Hunt 27 Gamefish

Anyone running a Sea Hunt 27 Gamefish with twin 150's? I am looking at the coffin box version and have taken a sea trial, but it was only in the bay. Waiting to get into the ocean in a little slop to see how it handles. It has some really clean and simple features which I really like for maintenance and cleaning side of things. Would love to hear from someone who has run the boat.

Thanks in advance

Pete

I would think that a 27ft boat with 300hp would be rather under-powered. I would do twin 200's minimum. JMHO

Agreed.

It's a larger boat and heavy. Min 2x 200 hp's or better. The 200's may get you 30+ mph barely.

Thanks for the replies, but they are just based on opinions. I would really like to hear from someone who has actually ran the boat in the ocean. Im not trying to sound mean, hopefully it doesn't come across that way. Appreciate the opinions, I was really second guessing the performance until I rode in the boat. It is performs that good in the ocean with some slop then I will be a true believer.

I have been in the bay on the sea hunt with about a full tank of fuel and 3 people, and when running 4600rpm was burning about 17 gallons per hour, so the I couldn't second guess the Yamaha performance bulletins. The sea hunt will do over 50 mph with the twin 150s.

But would I rather pay 30-40k more the a 25 Regulator? That's what I have been thinking about for a while.

Sea hunt tested at 6355 lbs with twin 150s
28.4 mph at 2.81 mpg and 52.3 mph top speed

New regulator 25 tested at 9070 with twin 200's
31.2 mph at 2.01 mpg and 50.6 mpg

Can't say anything about the 27 but I've been on a 25 out to 70 miles offshore with with a three ft chop and it was great dry smooth riding boats. My buddy has one 150s on the 25 and it screamed with only sipping gas. There great boats and priced right. And no I don't own one just really like them
