Is whoever took the picture of the smallie from outside the tent still alive! That is a great shot but it looks like a scene out of Deadliest Catch in Dutch Harbor! I give you guys credit for fishing in tough conditions and more credit for catching some nice bronze backs in the same! It's no wonder most people think the hard water guys are crazy because truthfully they are! Great story gents!

Re: Toads in new york.

Ended up with 7 smallies between two of us all 3-4.5 lbs and lost 4 or 5 as well. Then they turned off so we kept moving. Found some Lakers but they must have been on diets as they would chase but would not bite anything.

Yeah Dakota it was brutal but won't lie once in the shanty with the heater going I was fishing in a long sleeve shirt haha. Covered some ground and it was brutal dragging the sleds, gotta invest in a snow mobile

Haha yep just got started and and ended just as fast. About the most exciting picture after the smallmouths.

http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/a...5779929944.jpg

Covered 2+ miles Saturday. Hit two more smallmouths and lost a few at the same spot, other than that a few average perch and the drag sucked.

Sunday morning we hit a different lake looking for splake. I can't even describe the drag was like with a good 16" of snow over slush was like plus added another 6" of snow in 4 hours while fishing. Sleds were sinking and plowing through the snow. Half mile walk that was like 20 steps and take a break. And on top of it no splake and just a couple dink perch. http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/a...130-084411.png
http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/a...130-084717.png oh well fun weekend with good friends. Awesome scenery and fun town. Lots of snow mobiles in town with the fresh snow and a big hockey tournament meant all the bars were hoping and a good time

Don't even wanna think how many calories we burned. I'll be taking a snow mobile up next time for sure
