Good to see a nice sized Laker come out of Boonton Reservoir! Good looking deep water predator dude! How long is the fish pictured? :D
Oh I drove home in that fog last night, it was pretty epic! Then I had to drive in it again this morning! Interesting weather were having lately........ |

would you believe i didn't measure it haha. it took the jig deep and was bleeding. seemed fine in the net but just snapped a few quick pics and released it quick. swam down fine but i realized i didn't measure it...we pulled the tape and estimated it close to 30". tried to scale it with the picture using my fingers but the results ranged from 26-34" haha I'm just going to call it 28" and hopefully crush it with a monster over 31" soon!! |

Re: suck it mother nature
Nice catch! Just curious what part of the state you're in? I picked up a used boat and would like to take it for a spin.

Re: suck it mother nature
Thanks again for the invite man. First time targeting them. I definitely need to rethink using 4# floro.
That fog was sick!!! I bet our visibility was ~10 yds and was playing tricks with my eyes. Glad to have the GPS otherwise we would still be looking for the ramp. |

Re: suck it mother nature
I was out with Trevordog and same story, fog so thick you needed GPS to even have a chance at finding the launch. First drop on a few marks in 90 fow and I was hooked up with a small skipper within minutes, and a few later Trevordog managed an average one
http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/a...121_080908.jpg then quiet so we went searching, dropped on some good looking marks but no love. Kept moving, almost ran in to chrisper as we couldn't see him till about 25 yards. Tried few more spots before we found consistent marks. Wind picked up to a gentle breeze and Could tell how the fish were reacting on the fish finder it was only time before we would have our chance and sure enough I dumped a good fish half way up, then within minutes Trevor boated another average laker followed by me dumping another better fish half way up. Then wind died once again and fish went quiet once again. I teased one more into two soft bumps but couldn't come tight. We no activity we called it quits around 12 for afternoon commitments. Thought for sure we were gonna be on the fish with the first two slamming our jigs on the first drop but wasn't meant to be. |
Re: suck it mother nature
Nice Lakers!!! I'm loving this open water myself, I get out at least 1 day on the weekend to fish, and Jan. is almost over!!!!
