Getting to be that time of year and hopefully the Hybrids will be chewin like last year!!! Get READY cause it's coming soon!!!!! Details will be posted this weekend Just wanted to get the word out for anyone who's interested!!!!! One year it's a Herring bite! One year it's a liver bite! One year it's a Hybrid M-N-G with a bunch of Walleye coming to the nets! What will this year bring? Can't wait to find out..... "IN!!!!!":D

This sounds like a great time. I would really like to attend but I don't own a boat and never caught a hybrid or walleye. Willing to share expenses and bring a venison recipe.

I am with Cape Cod here. It sounds like an awesome time. However I do not own a boat to join in the fun. Would love to go if there is space in a boat...I'd also need to know what type of equipment to bring as I have yet to fish for Hybrids or Walleye.

sounds like there is gonna be another good time on the big lake!!!that bait shop on nolans point will have boats,liver and herring if you need some.hope to get out with you fw maniacs but have a few tuna trips planned so we will have to see.

Also, quick question: Would I be better off in a boat, or would I be okay fishing from a kayak too?

Well here's the update! It's going to be Sat Oct 22nd! Meet and launch at Lee's at 6:30am. Bait and Boats are available at Dow's for those in need. Some people may have room on their boats also so post up and see what happens or split the cost and rent one for the day! Good times are coming so get ready!!! Hope you can make it!!!

Youngdumbandfulloffish and I are mostly likely in. Depending on my engine situation I may rent or bring my boat-
Literally never been hybrid fishing-so I'll have to scan old posts I guess lol
Just have to be out fairly early- have a show at 9pm

Nice! I'm looking for an open spot on a boat or willing to put up $ towards a rental. Never fished Hopatcong and I've never fished for 'brids. I'm really excited.

Medium set up, 12 lb test, 1/0 octopus hooks, 1/4-1/2 oz egg sinker and a fish finder. Find this fish, bait up, drop down, two cranks off the bottom and hold on!

Ok.

Date marked and hopefully I will be making it out this year. No need for fish finder I will just follow everyone around like a lost puppy.

On a side note always willing to get in a water if anyone need any help

can i just say if you're going to use globby goo aka chick liber aka sloppy bloody mess as bait, consider using a fairly large in-line circle hook or at least holding the rod in your hand so you can set the hook immediately (if you plan on releasing the fish) they will swallow that stuff on impact most of the time!

Hope the start of the day is better than last years...that was APOCALIPSE NOW heading out to the fog, which was freezing on my carpeting and making for fun footing.

I love the smell of chicken livers in the morning, it smells of victory!

Quick question how deep are the brids right now? Im thinking the weather forecast might keep some of the crazies at home Saturday so i might give Hopatcong a try.
