Beautiful mam, I was trying to go up over the weekend but was informed by the girlfriend about a family gathering I wasn't excused from. What lake were you fishing? I was thinking schroon, racquette, 4th, etc but I never fished the adk lakes before so was going In blinde.

got one about 20" on a tip up as i was setting up, got the bigger one jigging shortly after, and then just a couple chasers after that and one swing and a miss at the end of the day (while on a phone call :mad:). im happy with just that big one tho lol

Schroon is great, camped out on ice for 3 days 2 winters ago. Big pike also.

i guess most of them are small like minnows but i did snag one that was like 7-8", looked like a creek chub. sent that one down on a tip up but got no love lol was hoping for a gator or a big trout to cruise by it

Stock ciscos, not smelt. Better bait for lakers.
LG trout and salmon gorge in smelt but throw a fresh cisco down and hold on

Need a bait that will grow larger than what those average 22" lakers can eat. Once the Lakers get big enough to eat them then they could gorge themselves and grow fat and happy.
