Personal Best Fluke

Tuesday the 15th, I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather, and made the PM trip on the Sea Hunter. Action with the shorts was my main hope, with maybe a shot at a keeper or two. We fished mostly the West side of the Knoll. There was a slow pick of shorts, but near the end of the outgoing I caught my personal best fluke, 9 lbs 8 oz, 28 inches. She hit a "bunker" colored 1 oz. Spro tipped with a 6 inch pink glow gulp grub. There were maybe five or six additional keepers for the dozen or so fares on the boat.

Congrats and way to go on your PB.

This is the time of year the bigger fish usually come out to play so hopefully we will see more reports like this Mike.

Just in through the center of the "head", then out just far enough back so that the grub is straight on the hook shank. Using a spro that has the bait holder molded in helps.

Thanks. This one was a long fish, but skinny.
