Bluefish?
 

I am planning on coming down for my annual trip and I do not see any promising bluefish reports? I see the boats catching a few snappers here or there. What is going on? Any Intel. Thx

Mostly peanuts and mackerel lately. There are bigger ones out further but boats aren't going to run 40 miles.

I was sharking at the mudhole Sunday and didn't see any Bluefish or sharks for that matter. Raritan bay is full of Bunker and no blues are on them.

We were off Asbury Park up to Long Branch Saturday and Sunday. There were hundreds and hundreds of bunker and not single bluefish in sight.

I was down Sunday. Seen the blues chasing bunker in the back bay(raritan).Threw a stretch out and right away hooked up. 15lb bluefish. Then stopped and casted some jigs out and again hooked up. I would think they are still there.

July is the worst month to fish for blues - they're spawning now. I never go out for them in July. Beginning in August, they should be done, hungry and rarin' to go again.

The July Blight is what's going on....Been this way for as long as I can remember.....They will return when the time is right. Patience.:)

Wait til August when it heats up again. In RB there are millions of bunker, but no fish on them. Don't even bother right now. I'm sure they are there occasionally, but for the most part, they aren't very active. I believe they are spawning this month.

There are very few around. On monday we caught one in the cast net!!! They were tearing apart the bunker in atlantic highlands. Thats the only time i saw a blue yet!

My trip has been pushed back to mid August , not a good thing but hopefully by then the blues and possibly the albies make showing !
