Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd show you guys what I've been up to the past two weeks. Worked on my kayak and mounted a trolling motor and fish finder to it! Took it out on the Passaic up into Great Piece for its maiden voyage today. Fished from 11:00-5:00 in hopes of a pike but couldn't even get a swipe. Beautiful and peaceful day on the water nonetheless. At least I can say that the motor and fish finder work great!

Very nice. I really like that feel free lure10 kayak. Love the seat. I've been eying them up. I think next year I'm going to take the plunge and buy one. Good luck with her.

I'm surprised it still floats with all that stuff on it. :D Nice fishing machine, can't wait to see photos of all the fish you catch in it!

That's a really cool graphic!! And, SWEEEET YAK!!

1 thing I learned, other than water temp, the FF can be pretty useless in some (most) parts of the big P.....

If you've got the sheckles, this is the way to roll....Not knocking the posters set up by any means but I was eyeing this up yrs ago.....Never pulled the trigger because of other boats in my life, so I really don't spend as much time as I used to on the yak.....Check it out, lots of features including a way to lift the motor as you beach ur yak....

I'd just get the gas powered one. Saw one of these on the Delaware... very cool.

It's a very simple mount. Drilled two holes at the very end of the back tracks, took out the rodholders to access the hull, and threaded two bolts through from the inside. Added a nut to keep the bolts from sliding back into the hole and then put the 2x4 on top and secured it with a washer and nut. I also had to make a small notch in the wood in order to fit the motor onto the wood. The whole piece of wood is able to be removed when you're not using the motor as well so it doesn't get in the way of your paddle.

Don't forget it needs to be registered now because it's motorized. Nice work....

And you need a boat license too. I was taking my boat out with the trolling motor for years, unaware that I needed to be licensed to run it. I didn't find out I was in violation until I put an outboard on back and took the boaters safety course for my boat license.
